Compressor 2ВМ4-24/9
A two-stage compressor with separate lubrication: the crankcase and the cylinder-piston group through the lubricator. Both channels are treated, each according to its own calculation.
2ВМ4-24/9 reciprocating air compressor with crosshead and lubricator: treatment through the crankcase and the lubricator
The class norm is 1.5 ml per litre. For this machine the XADO engineer prescribed 1.2 ml/l and added a second channel — the lubricator, which is not covered by the class procedure. Piston compressors →
What is treated
- A serviceable compressor with no parts worn to 100 % and no mechanical damage.
- Oil leaks eliminated, filter elements washed or replaced.
- Treatment is carried out in place, without disassembling the compressor.
What is measured before and after
| Parameter | Instrument | How and when |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity — filling time of a separate receiver | stopwatch, calibrated pressure gauge | From one and the same initial pressure to one and the same final pressure, with the shut-off valves in good order. |
| Power consumption or current at no load and under load | current clamp meter, wattmeter | Phase by phase. The standard pointer instruments are not suitable — they lack sensitivity. |
| Oil pressure at a fixed operating temperature | standard calibrated pressure gauge | — |
| Vibration level at fixed points of the frame | vibrometer | The points are at the main bearings of the crankshaft. |
| Air temperature at the outlet of each stage | thermometer | At the same ambient temperature. |
Dosage rates
| Compound | Rate | How and when |
|---|---|---|
| Gel for compressors and bearings — crankcase | 1.2 ml per 1 litre of the standard oil per stage | 100 l sump: 120 ml per stage, 360 ml for three stages (40 tubes of 9 ml). |
| The same gel — lubricator | 1.2 ml per 1 litre of lubricator oil | Added in doses as the oil is consumed over 200 hours. At a consumption of 0.1 l/h this is 20 l of oil and 24 ml of gel. |
Treatment stages
- In a separate vessel, dilute the gel in the standard oil heated to 50–60 °C (1 part gel to 5–10 parts oil), stir until completely dissolved and introduce into the crankcase of the warmed-up compressor.Start of the total running-time count
- The second stage is performed in the same way as the first. After 8 hours of total running time
- The third stage is performed in the same way as the first. After a further 8 hours of running time
After treatment
- Treatment through the crankcase is complete after 450 hours of total running time from the beginning of the first stage.
- The measurements are repeated in full and compared with the initial ones.
Points to watch
- Cylinder-piston groups with graphite and flubon (antifriction polymer composite materials) piston rings are not to be treated.
- A new compressor, or one with wear up to 10 %, is treated in two stages instead of three.
- For new compressors — 2 stages through the crankcase and 50 hours through the lubricator.
- If there is no lubricator, treatment is carried out through the crankcase only.
Where 2ВМ4-24/9 has already been treated
