EHS 250/160 screw compressor
Screw compressor with a capacity of 20 m³/min. The only machine among those analysed where treatment is carried out in four stages.
EHS 250/160 screw compressor, 160 kW, 80 l oil sump
The class standard is 0.8 ml per litre in 5 stages. For this machine the engineer prescribed 1.25 ml/l in 4 stages. Screw and centrifugal compressors →
What is treated
- A serviceable screw compressor with no parts at 100% wear and no macromechanical damage.
- Fine-filtration filter elements washed or replaced, centrifuge washed.
What is measured before and after
| Parameter | Instrument | How and when |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity — time to fill the receiver to a fixed pressure | stopwatch | — |
| Power consumption or current with the compressor unloaded and at a fixed pressure | clamp meter, wattmeter | — |
| Oil pressure in the lubrication system | standard pressure gauge | At operating temperature. |
| Vibration level of the bearing assemblies | vibrometer | Vibration acceleration, vibration velocity and vibration displacement in three directions. |
Dosage rates
| Compound | Rate | How and when |
|---|---|---|
| Gel for compressors and bearings | 1.25 ml per 1 litre of standard oil per stage | 80 l sump: 100 ml per stage, 400 ml for four stages. |
Treatment stages
- Dilute the gel in oil at 50–60 °C (1 part gel to 5–10 parts oil) and add it to the oil sump. After adding — 2 minutes of idle running without pressure load.Start of operating-hours count
- The second stage is performed in the same way as the first. After 8–12 operating hours
- The third stage is performed in the same way as the first. After a further 8–12 hours
- The fourth stage is performed in the same way as the first. After a further 8–12 hours
After treatment
- Treatment is complete after 500 hours of total operating time.
- The declared service life increase is at least 1.5 times.
Points to watch
- Replace the oil if its residual service life is less than 50%.
- New compressors, or those with wear of up to 10% — 3 stages.
- It is recommended that the standard electric motor bearing grease be replaced with XADO "Restorative" grease.
