Reduction gear of a mine hoisting machine
The largest oil bath among the reduction gears analysed — 1400 litres. The dosage is calculated for the whole bath at once.
Reduction gear of a mine hoisting machine drive: 1400 L oil bath, MS-20 oil
The class norm is 3.0 mL per litre. In this method the calculation is made at 2.0 mL/L; the document itself contains a discrepancy — 1950 mL against its own formula 1400 × 2 = 2800 mL, so the figure must be checked against the original before use. Industrial reducers and transmissions →
What is treated
- A serviceable reduction gear with no parts worn 100 % and no macromechanical damage.
- Oil leaks have been eliminated — otherwise the concentration of the compound will not hold.
What is measured before and after
| Parameter | Instrument | How and when |
|---|---|---|
| Vibration level at the bearing supports | vibrometer | Vibration acceleration, vibration velocity and vibration displacement in three directions. |
| Noise level at fixed points | sound level meter | — |
| Power consumption or current of the electric motor | clamp meter, wattmeter | At no load and at a fixed load, at the same oil temperature. |
| Oil temperature conditions | liquid thermometer or pyrometer | — |
| Tooth thickness of the gear wheels | gear tooth vernier caliper with a scale division no coarser than 0.05 mm | Along the constant chord; chord height h = 0.748·m, where m is the tooth module. |
| Condition of the contact patterns on the marked teeth | visually or with a camera | — |
Dosage rates
| Compound | Rate | How and when |
|---|---|---|
| Gel for gearboxes and reduction gears | 2.0 mL per 1 litre of standard oil per stage | 1400 L bath: 2800 mL per stage, 8400 mL for three stages. The figure must be checked against the original — the document contains a discrepancy. |
Treatment stages
- Dilute the gel in standard oil heated to 40–60 °C (1 part gel to 5–10 parts oil) and introduce it with the equipment stopped, through the hatch or the oil filler opening.Start of the operating time count
- The second stage is performed in the same way as the first. After 8–12 hours of total operating time
- The third stage is performed in the same way as the first. After a further 8–12 hours
After treatment
- The treatment is complete after 400 hours of total operating time.
- The results are recorded in a technical report.
Points to watch
- Reduction gears without oil filtration may be treated by applying the gel directly onto the working surfaces of the teeth.
- Vibration, noise and power measurements are taken at constant torque on the output shaft and with fixed electric motor operating modes.
